MAHE is considered a university established in 1993. The Manipal Academy of Higher Education offers more than 300 UG, PG and Ph.D. programs in 31 majors. MAHE Manipal also offers parallel entry to seven UG courses. At the research level, the academy offers fellowship and doctoral programs. Admissions to MAHE are based on MAHE MET 2022 (Manipal Entrance Examination), National Entrance Examination, and merit depending on the nature of the program.
The university is ranked 751-800 in the top universities in the QS World University Rankings 2022. In 2021, the university improved its QS University Asia ranking from 239 to 230. The university was also listed in the top NIRF lists, The Week, and Outlook among other rating agencies. According to the MAHE NIRF 2022 report, the university placed 142 out of 739 students in UG internships. Approximately 1,171 students are placed out of 1,667 students during MAHE PG internships. Moreover, the average package is offered at INR 10.8 LPA (PG) and INR 3 LPA (UG).
MAHE has more than 250 international collaborations with universities such as the University of Birmingham, Boston University, and Trinity College Dublin. MAHE is home to world-class learning facilities that make the learning process a celebration. Asia's largest anatomy museum as well as the largest life science library are present here. Manipal also has its own business incubation center and several other centers of excellence, making it a prominent name in academia.
